Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum diameter capacity of the C5A ChamferMate?

The C5A ChamferMate has a 5-inch OD capacity, ranging from 1/2 inch to 5 inches. It’s a larger version of the C3A with the same features but scaled up for bigger parts and heavier applications.

What applications is the C5A best suited for?

The C5A is ideally used for deburring or chamfering solid parts and beveling tubing up to 3/8 inch wall thickness. However, it is not recommended for heavy wall tube or pipe beveling applications—for those needs, MSI recommends the C5H ChamferMate.

How does the C5A achieve consistent results?

The C5A features pneumatic clamping of parts and a fully adjustable air-over-oil spindle feed system, ensuring consistent pressure and smooth operation. Combined with the electronic variable speed drive and enclosed cutting area, it delivers accurately machined weld bevels and square-faced parts every time.

What are the typical cycle times for the C5A?

The C5A typically completes operations in the 5-20 second range, making it significantly faster than portable units or hand grinding methods. These fast cycle times, combined with improved safety and accuracy, make it an excellent investment for production environments.
